About Health-e-LA
In January 2004, healthcare leaders
led by LA Care Health Plan, Los Angeles County Medical Association,
and the County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services
began the momentum for building an infrastructure for the
electronic exchange of clinical information with the goal
of improving quality of care. Since then, the group has expanded
to include major health organizations interested in planning
activities for a Los Angeles County-wide electronic health
system and has now formed the Health-e-LA Coalition. The mission
of Health-e-LA is to foster the development of an infrastructure
for healthcare providers to facilitate electronic exchange
of clinical healthcare information throughout the greater
Los Angeles region at the point of care thereby improving
the quality of services provided.
